Class One Blog Archive 2010/11

Welcome to Class One's online blog.

Hello from Class One 16.6.2011

Yesterday we went to Shugborough Park Farm because we are learning about ‘Food and Farming’ and we wanted to find out about what farms were like in the olden days. First of all we split into two groups, one group went into the kitchen to bake bread and the other group went to visit the mill. Next we went to have our lunch and afterwards the groups swapped over. Then we went on a tour of the farm to look at all the animals. During the tour we met a lovely, friendly shire horse called William and after we played on the adventure trail. Last of all we went back to school feeling very tired but we had had a lovely day!

Hello from Class One

We have come back fresh from our half term holiday and are excited about  our new topic on animals. The first thing we did was make a mind map to give us some ideas about our work. In literacy we are learning how to use adjectives to make our writing interesting.

Year One has been learning how to count in tens and Year Two learning about hundreds to a thousand and we are getting rather good at it!

This week was Tye’s birthday and he was seven years old.  He brought his presents and cards in to show us.  We all wished him a very happy birthday.

Hello from Class One 11.2.2011

Hope you have had a good week.  We have had an interesting one keeping our own weather charts.  Every morning and afternoon we took the temperature outside and recorded it. We are all really good at using the thermometer. We also had to decide on our own weather symbols to use on the charts.

In Numeracy we have all been learning about money and the Year 2s have even learnt how to use the decimal point.

On Tuesday afternoon a teacher came from King Edward’s High School to  teach us how to play golf. We found it very enjoyable and exciting!

Ideas from Jess, Max, Molly and Maddy.
