We have had an excellent week at school! We have been very busy. On Tuesday we did some gymnastics and learnt how to do some forward rolls which were very tricky. In Literacy we have been writing our persuasive Jubilee letters and we have also been writing instructions on how to make our crowns for our Diamond Jubilee crown competition. We have begun making our crowns and yesterday, we learnt how to use a tape measure to measure the circumference of our heads. Today, we have had fun going on the Learning Platform and I hope we get lots of responses for Diamond Jubilee logo designs. We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

We have made special leaflets to advertise the Queens diamond Jubilee. Congratulations to everyone who entered the photography competition. Woodseaves Primary School is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant on a two year contract basis, starting in September 2012, to work with our Year 1 and 2 pupils.

We have had a wonderful week at school! We have been very busy this week! We have been sharing our Tudor projects and presenting them to the class. Everybody has done a wonderful job and each one was magnificent so well done to everybody. We had a wonderful time on our trip to Little Moreton Hall. Despite the weather being bad, we managed to stay dry and we learned so many interesting facts about the Tudors and saw some wonderful artefact’s. We would love to go back and visit in the future. We would also like to wish Jamie a very happy 9th birthday! We hope you have a wonderful weekend

Hello everyone, we hope you have had a wonderful Easter holiday! Welcome back to school! We have had a fantastic week as we have been very busy. We have been learning about Tudor food for the rich and poor and we have created our own Tudor food pictures. We have also begun to make our very own Tudor Rose collages. We are very excited about next week because on Monday we will be viewing our Tudor projects and on Wednesday we will be going on our trip to Little Moreton Hall and we will be learning about what life was like during the Elizabethan era. Hello everyone! We hope you are all well and eggcited about your Easter holidays? Last week, we had a very busy week as it was our last day of swimming and we had the Bishop of Lichfield visit our school last Friday, which was very eggciting!

We have had a lovely week this week as we have made our Easter cards, a movie afternoon organised by Woodseaves school friends (thank you for the Easter eggs!), we had the fabulous music concert in the hall yesterday and today we have made cakes and we are looking forward to the Easter service! Congratulations to John and Jacob for their musical performance and their awards. We hope you all have fun making your Tudor projects and when we get back, we are very eggcited about our class trip! We hope you have a wonderful holiday! Don’t eat too much chocolate! Happy Birthday to Jess for tomorrow! We hope you have a lovely time X:-)

We have had a very exciting topic day this week, when we all came to school dressed in medieval or fairy tale themed clothing. Everyone made a great effort to dress up and we did a fashion show in the morning to show off our outfits. We also made fairy cakes with sparkly flower sprinkles for the girls and silver cannonballs for the boys…which we very much enjoyed eating. In the afternoon we decorated crowns and shields and made them into name plaques. Finally we played a castle attacking game outside in the sun, building a castle from soft bricks and defending it while the other team attacked using soft rocks. We all had so much fun and cant wait for our next topic themed day.

This week in our numeracy we are learning about ‘direction’. We have chatted all about the command words we must use to instruct someone on how to find their way. We instructed our friends around the school hall to find hidden objects using the commands forward (+ a number of steps), backward, turn and most importantly STOP (when our friend may bump into something). We are now learning how to instruct ‘Beebot the Robot’ around our ‘Fairytale Map’.
